Aret Çerçi ÖZKAN, MD
He was born in Istanbul in 1971. After completing the primary, high school (Dadyan and Sahakyan-Nunyan Armenian Schools) in 1989 in Istanbul, he continued his education at the English program of Cerrahpasha Medical Faculty.
Dr. Çerçi Özkan graduated as 6th highest GPA of his class from the English program of Cerrahpasha Medical Faculty in 1995. As a medical student he was the head of the board in charge of the organization of the 3rd International Cardiology Student Days. In 1995 he was in the organization committee of the graduation ceremony of the English Medical Faculty program.
He completed his residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Istanbul University Medical Faculty in 1996 and he received 4 year training in plastic surgery and other 2 year training in hand surgery after scoring high in T.U.S. examination.
In the beginning of 2002 he spent some time focusing on aesthetic surgery at the plastic surgery department of St. Agatha Hospital in Cologne, Germany. In addition, he practiced at Russsel-Hall Hospital in Birmingham, UK.
After two and a half years of extensive work on reconstruction after breast cancer, he handed in his thesis and then became Aesthetic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery specialist in February 2002.
He has authored 8 articles for international and 6 for Turkish medical publications, presented 27 speeches and papers at international as well as national medical congresses and meetings. Furthermore he has given speeches in surgery as well as in other medical and paramedical fields at various associations and school meetings.
From 2002 to 2007 he practiced in Surp Pırgiç Armenian Hospital. From 2007 to now he is practicing in his own private clinic. (www.aretcerci.com)
His main subjects of practice are all aesthetic surgery operations specifically focusing in aesthetic operations of nose and breast.
He is a member of Turkish Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Society and The International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS)
He speaks Turkish, English and Armenian. He is married and has two daughters.
His hobbies include making clay and plaster reliefs, trinkets and sculptures, playing the piano, the cello and the flute and collecting antiques and vintage objects. In 2003 he worked on an amateur book titled “Anımsadıklarım” (My Memories) by collecting his childhood and youth memories. In 2010 he worked on his amateur book translation titled “Nag Hammadi Scriptures and Gnosticism”. In 2012 he published an enstrumental music CD named “Nar”. His several other writings have been published in local newspapers and magazines.
