Dr. Aret Çerçi Özkan was born in 1971 in Istanbul. After completing his primary and secondary education, he was entitled to enter Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, Department of English Medicine in 1989.

While he was a medical school student in 1993, he was the chairman of the organizing committee of the International Student Symposium named “III. International Cardiology Student Days”. He also did an internal internship at Russel-Hall Hospital in Birmingham, England, for a while in the same year.

He organized and hosted the diploma ceremony of 1995 English Medicine Graduates.

In 1995, he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, the English Department of Medicine as sixth of the term.

In 1996, he was entitled to specialize in Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery with his high degree in the Medical Specialty Examination. He studied plastic and reconstructive surgery and hand surgery for 6 years in this institution.

In 2002, in the last year of his assistantship, he worked at the plastic surgery department of the hospital named St. Agatha Krankenhaus. He worked mainly in aesthetic surgery

In 2002, after completing his thesis on "post-cancer breast repair" on which he worked for 3 years, he was entitled to become an Aesthetic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Specialist with the specialty exam held in the department.

Between 2002-2007, he worked as a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Specialist at Surp Pırgiç Armenian Hospital.

He has been working in Nişantaşı between 2007-2015 and in Bakırköy since 2015.

He published 33 clinical articles, 20 of which were published in international journals and 13 in national journals, mainly on rhinoplasty and nasal repair, also a chapter in a book called "Challenges in Rhinology" published by an international publishing house, and 61 oral and a written presantations.

He has developed and patented 3 hand tools to be used in nasal aesthetic surgeries. He has also presented conferences in plastic surgery and other fields of medicine at meetings of various associations and schools.

Since 2019, he has been a lecturer at Kocaeli Health and Technology University and has been teaching here.

In 2019, in the Specialist Research Competition organized by the Turkish Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Association, he was awarded the first place in the clinical branch with his scientific article in which he classified the angulation disorders of the cartilages at the tip of the nose and compiled their repairs, and therefore he was awarded with a science award. In the same year, he received the best presentation award at the 10th Respiratory Summit.

With the approval of the Interuniversity Board on February 19, 2021, he was entitled to become an Associate Professor of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.

He is a full member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, The Rhinoplasty Society of Europe, the Turkish Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Association, the Reconstructive Microsurgery Association and the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Association.

Its foreign language is English. Has two daughters.

Other than Plastic Surgery, his most important occupations are making reliefs, trinkets and sculptures from clay and plaster, drawing charcoal drawings, playing piano, flute and cello, collecting old and antique objects, photographs, CD-DVDs and oil paintings.

In 2003, he wrote a book called “Memories”, in which he collected his childhood and youth memories.

In 2008, he translated the "Nag Hammadi Inscriptions" into Turkish and turned it into a book.

In 2012, he released an instrumental audio CD named "Nar", composed of Anatolian melodies, which he compiled with cello, flute and piano interpretations.

His several menuscripts have been published in various newspapers and magazines. He gave seminars to students in schools on the harms of smoking, life and art.
